Regeneration is a positive term as a type of environmentally-beneficial activity that stimulates the web of life. It refers to off-balance natural ecosystems as well as to equally uncertain built environment, formed by buildings and infrastructure. The article recounts the change of sustainable design paradigm towards regenerative design, defined as moving from minimising anthropogenic damages to operations harmonising human activity with our surroundings. The regeneration scenario results from the internal dynamics of a particular place, which requires adapting the tools to existing conditions, in this case – the environment of Irrigation Fields in Wrocław. This creates new circumstances for design disciplines.
