Review process

Each issue of Formy magazine features at least six articles reviewed in accordance with the double-blind peer review procedure.

Each article is evaluated by two reviewers. The anonymity of reviewers and authors of peer-reviewed articles is fully preserved, even in the case of texts published by the editor of the journal.

An article submitted for publication in the journal cannot be considered for publication elsewhere at the same time. It is the responsibility of the authors to obtain permission to use previously published material.

When evaluating articles, the following factors are taken into account: their compatibility with the journal’s profile, the significance and topicality of the issues addressed, the originality of the substantive findings, the relevance of the research problem and the correctness of the research methods, the appropriateness of the selection and originality of the visual material.

Each review ends with a recommendation to accept the text for publication, accept it after corrections, or reject it. Reviews are recommendations, and the final decision rests with the editorial board. An exception is when an article has been negatively evaluated by two reviewers – in this case, a third external review is required.

The editorial board reserves the right to reject articles without submitting them for review (desk reject).
